What is included in your restricted breeds policy?

Find detailed answers to your questions about our restricted breeds policy and services here.

Which dog breeds are restricted at The Dogchester?

Due to insurance restrictions, certain dog breeds and similar are unfortunately not permitted as we would not be covered by insurance for any incident that occurred.
This includes Cane Corso, Pit Bull Terrier, and breeds like the XL Bully, Dogo Argentino, Presa Canario, American Bulldog, Mastino Napoletano, Bullmastiff, Boerboel, and Caucasian Shepherd Pit Bull Terrier. Also excluded are Japanese Tosas and Fila Brasileiros

Why does The Dogchester have a restricted breeds policy?

Our policy is solely shaped by insurance requirements, not individual dog behavior or personality, as we understand that a dogs behaviour is very much down to how it is raised and trained. However, we must ensure our staff and canine guests are covered by insurance while at The Dogchester, so regretfully we are unable to accept the above breeds, or mixes.

Can I contact you with questions about the policy?

Absolutely! We welcome any inquiries you may have regarding our restricted breeds policy.

Do mixed breeds fall under the restricted breeds policy?

Mixed breeds containing restricted breeds may also be affected by the policy.
