How to enrol your dog.
Our Doggie Daycare is small, thoughtful and carefully matched — so every new dog starts with a relaxed Doggie Daycare Assessment.
We are selective because your dog’s experience matters.
Our aim is never simply to fill places. We want every Doggie Daycare group to feel safe, fair and genuinely enjoyable for the dogs in it.
That means looking at your dog as an individual: their size, confidence, previous experiences, play style, social communication, ability to settle and the companions who are most likely to suit them.
Not every dog needs group daycare, and that is completely okay. We will always be honest about whether this is the right environment for your dog.
A gentle, real-world assessment — not a five-minute meet and greet.
Our Saturday assessment sessions are one hour long, held in small groups of up to four dogs and owners, and designed to help us understand what each dog needs.
Tour & chat
You and your dog come in for a relaxed tour. We talk through their routine, history, confidence, social experiences and the daycare days you are looking for.
Meet Bear on lead
Each dog is introduced carefully to Bear, our resident social butterfly. This lets us observe body language, curiosity, confidence and social communication.
Safe introduction
If your dog is relaxed and comfortable, we may progress to a short supervised off-lead interaction. We never force a friendship or rush a dog beyond their comfort level.
Trial Day
Suitable dogs are then invited to a managed Trial Day, giving us a clearer picture of how they settle, rest, respond to staff and cope with the daycare rhythm.
More than “does your dog like other dogs?”
A dog can be friendly and still prefer certain group sizes, ages, sizes or styles of play. We look at the full picture.
- Confidence in a new environment and with unfamiliar staff
- Social skills, communication and ability to cope appropriately around other dogs
- Response to staff guidance, recall and gentle interruption — skills we continue to develop during daycare
- Ability to settle, rest and recover after activity
- Signs of stress, overstimulation, anxiety or shutdown
- Destructive behaviour, separation-related distress or unsafe chewing
- Whether they may be a flight risk around doors, gates, leads or boundaries
- Whether small-dog or larger-dog daycare days are the safest, happiest fit
