Real support for real family life

There is no shame in asking for help with training.

You love your dog. You know training matters. But between work, children, school runs, household demands and everyday life, finding time for consistent teaching is not always straightforward.

People often hear that they should do all their dog’s training themselves. But not every household has spare hours every day, and needing expert help doesn’t make you a less committed owner.

We do the structured daytime teaching. You learn how to maintain and build on it at home. Our goal is to strengthen communication, prevent small difficulties from becoming bigger ones, and make daily life more enjoyable for the whole family.

Good training should help dogs thrive in their families — not leave already-busy owners feeling guilty.

Choose the programme that sounds most like your dog.

All three options cost £500 for the complete two-week block. They are starting frameworks, not rigid lesson plans. You choose the topics you’d most like help with, and we tailor the training following our assessment.

The Customised Package

Already know what you’d like to prioritise? Tell us about your dog and build a tailored training plan from suitable basic-obedience, life-skills and preventative learning topics.

  • Select your main training priorities
  • Tell us which techniques you’ve already tried
  • Share your dog’s favourite rewards and motivators
  • Choose realistic skills for your home and lifestyle
  • Receive tailored exercises, videos and management strategies
  • Learn how to continue training after the programme

Every curriculum is flexible. These are examples of what we can cover, not promises that every topic will be completed. We agree priorities after reviewing your application, your dog’s temperament and training history. More complex behaviour difficulties need a separate specialist assessment.

Prevention is part of the curriculum

Good habits today can help prevent bigger problems tomorrow.

We don’t just teach sit, stay and recall. We also focus on the foundations that help young dogs feel safe, cope with everyday life and make better choices as they grow.

Positive handlingGentle mouth skillsConfidence buildingGuarding preventionAppropriate playPolite greetingsAlone-time foundationsSettling & calmLead frustration preventionRecallToilet-training routinesEveryday social confidence

That means teaching puppies that people approaching their food or toys predict good things, practising calm lead skills before frustration becomes a habit, and making everyday handling and new experiences as positive as possible.

A key distinction: We teach early prevention and suitable basic life skills. A dog already showing significant fear, established resource guarding, aggression, severe separation distress or unsafe on-lead behaviour may need specialist behaviour support rather than Day School. Please disclose concerns on the application so we can recommend the right service.

What an ordinary school day looks like

Six training sessions. Plenty of time to be a dog.

Six individual lessons

Short, structured, reward-based sessions chosen around your dog’s goals, age and ability to concentrate.

Lunch & downtime

Time to unwind. Suitable dogs may enjoy supervised Social Club; others have individual attention, calm play or quieter activities.

Exercise & enrichment

Nature walks, fresh air, sniffing, problem-solving and mental breaks appropriate to your dog.

Proper rest

Rest periods between lessons are part of the programme so learning can stay enjoyable, without constant activity or overstimulation.

Social Club is only available to dogs individually assessed and approved for compatible supervised group play. The £500 price is unchanged whether your dog enjoys Social Club or individual activities. Social Club is not compulsory and is not a separate charge.

You stay involved

We train your dog — and show you how to keep the progress going.

Good results aren’t just about what happens at school. They’re about making the learning understandable and achievable when your dog comes home.

Recorded training sessions

We record sessions and share useful training clips so you can see exactly how exercises are taught and practised.

Daily updates

Receive daily progress reports, with notes on what we’ve worked on, what’s improving and what we’ll focus on next.

Step-by-step home guidance

Clear instructions, useful rewards and realistic management techniques for everyday family life.

What To Do At Home course

Access to a home-training course to help maintain new skills, build on progress and avoid common setbacks.

Training is individual and develops at each dog’s pace. No ethical programme can guarantee specific behaviour changes in two weeks. Your consistent practice at home helps skills generalise.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Dog School

Is this an obedience programme or behaviour modification?

Day School focuses on puppy development, manners, basic obedience, everyday confidence and early prevention. It is not residential training or specialist behaviour modification. More complex concerns may need a separate behaviour consultation.

Do I choose the topics covered?

Yes. Choose from our curriculum examples and tell us your priorities on the application. The final plan depends on your dog’s needs, welfare, aptitude and safe suitability for the programme.

Are the three packages different prices?

No. Puppy Foundations, Adolescent Manners and Customised are all the same £500 two-week programme. They simply help us plan the most appropriate learning goals.

How many lessons does my dog get?

Six individual training sessions each weekday, with appropriate walks, activities, rest and lunch breaks in between.

Does my dog have to join Social Club?

No. Approved sociable dogs may enjoy supervised Social Club during suitable breaks. Dogs who prefer individual activities can enjoy one-to-one attention instead. Neither choice changes the programme price.

Will you help with toilet training or feeling confident alone?

We can work on age-appropriate foundations and give you the routines, management techniques and home practice to continue. Toilet learning and comfortable alone time rely heavily on consistency at home, so we support the whole household rather than claiming to solve them during daytime attendance alone.

Do owners still need to practise at home?

Yes, but we make it easier. You’ll receive video examples, progress updates, step-by-step guidance, management advice and access to our What To Do At Home course.

Can I book and pay immediately?

No. Please apply first. We review each dog before offering programme dates, confirmation and payment arrangements.
